Intro
Sporty ascent, mainly off-piste. A good level of fitness is required for this tour, boasting 1,000 vertical metres and a length of more than 7 kilometres.
Tour description
The start of this tour is near the upper parking area at the bottom stations in Fiss. Cross the Poschilft below the mid station of the Sonnenbahn cable car (using piste no. 4 & 6). At a left-hand bend just before Berta’s Kindervilla, exit piste no. 4 and continue on Schöngampalm cross-country route (L10). After around 30 minutes (just before piste 8), the route branches off to the left into the forest. Having reached piste no. 7 and 8, continue to Frommes-Alp restaurant (refreshment stop). From there, follow the signposted route until you reach again piste no. 7 at 1,880 m. Then, ascend along the right edge of the slope as far as you reach the ridge at 2,300 m. After a short section where you have to cross the piste, you get directly to the ridge with beautiful views. Keep walking for about 20 minutes to reach your destination.
