All you need is the hiking pass, which you can get for a small fee at the information offices.
At many hiking destinations you’ll find signs with symbols and a hole punch – there you stamp the matching fields in your pass.
Depending on how many points you collect, a hiking medal in bronze, silver or gold awaits you at the end – free of charge as a reward for your achievement!

Proper behaviour in the mountains is extremely important – for your own safety and that of others. Step by step, moving safely forward means not only taking care of each other as people, but also treating the wildlife and the nature around us with respect. This respect is the foundation of a safe and accident-free mountain holiday.
If we all follow just a few basic rules, sharing the mountains becomes easy – and everyone can enjoy them in their own way:
- Stay on marked trails whenever possible
- Always close the gates
- Do not leave any litter behind
- Be considerate towards other “users of nature”
- Respect protected areas, barriers and similar signs
- Do not enter farmland during the growing season

Austria’s farmers make an important contribution to preserving our alpine landscape. Visitors are asked to adapt respectfully to this impressive environment. Following the ten rules below ensures proper behaviour on alpine pastures and grazing land.
Emergency and SOS Guideposts
The app is designed for all nature lovers and leisure athletes in Tyrol who enjoy being outdoors and in the mountains, and who use a smartphone with iOS or Android operating system. It is the only emergency app directly connected to the Tyrol control centre (responsible for alerting the rescue services).
The most important emergency functions include:
- Automatic transmission of personal and location data (GPS coordinates) to the Tyrol control centre via internet or SMS
- Establishing a phone connection to the Tyrol control centre

Around 500 SOS signposts have been installed throughout the region – clearly visible and marked with green-and-white emergency labels.
These include:
- The individual number of the signpost
- The number of the mountain rescue service
- The international emergency number (112)
- Call the emergency number on your mobile phone
- Give the number of the nearest SOS signpost
This way your location can be pinpointed exactly – and the mountain rescue service can provide targeted, fast assistance without losing time searching.

No, the certificate for the Wildlife Trail is not available in printed form. In the mySFL app it can be downloaded after completing the Wildlife Trail.
Yes, for each completed cache a pin is available at the information offices for collection.
You can either get them at the information offices or earn them with the hiking pass by collecting points and thus receive them as a reward. The hiking pass is also available at the information offices for €4.
